Art Deco Rexel Stapler

R280.00

When I first left the corporate world and went out on my own I splashed out on some serious stationery – I was tired of rubbish staplers jamming all the time, so spent a good couple of hundred Rand on a decent stapler, and I have to say, it was money well spent as it’s never let me down. The same stapler today costs around R500, with some high-end versions going for as much as R700 or R800, which is a little nuts I think! Especially when you consider that you could have something as beautiful as today’s Rexel ‘Comet’ stapler, for less money – and way more style! Seriously, how beautifully made is this stapler? I never thought I could get quite as excited about a piece of stationery as I am about this Rexel – it’s a piece of art! Also given that it’s in the region of 60 years old (the Rexel 56 Range was launched in 1956), it’s in really decent condition, and still works beautifully!

P.S. Because of the age of the stapler there is some minor wear to the paintwork, as well as some scratches to the stainless steel. Importantly though it takes bog standard staples that you can buy pretty much anywhere!
