Art Deco Porcelain Teapot (Damaged)

You don’t get much more art deco than today’s fantastic porcelain teapot! The base of the teapot is stamped “Victoria Czechoslovakia“, which is a porcelain factory that was established in 1883 in West Bohemia, by London-based firm, Lazarus & Rosenfeld Ltd. The firm has been through various iterations over the past 140 years or so, and today trades as part of Thun Karlovarský Porcelán.

But back to today’s unusual teapot – with those sharp angles and beautiful fan-shaped lid, this is a classic art deco design, with the maker’s mark dating it to 1930. Sadly there’s some damage to the handle, which rather bizarrely I didn’t actually notice before I bought it – I think I was too taken by the teapot’s fantastic good looks! The damage is there though, and is fairly obvious once you spot it, but it doesn’t affect the functionality of the teapot at all – we gave it a whirl, and it seems to pour just fine!

A great decorative piece, that would be a wonderful gift for any art deco collector!

P.S. This is quite a tall teapot – please pay attention to the dimensions below

Dimensions: 22.5cm tall x 27cm wide x 6cm deep
