Art Deco Coffee Percolator

R350.00

This is probably one of the oldest coffee percolators that we’ve sold on Mint todate. It was made by Landers, Frary & Clark, a housewares company based in Connecticut in America. The business was in operation from 1865 until 1965, when its assets were sold off to General Electric. I can’t imagine though that today’s percolator dates to much later than the 1920s. It has a wooden handle, which isn’t something I’ve seen before, and a wonderfully shiny chrome body. Unfortunately there is some damage – the glass lid, which allows you to watch your coffee percolate, has a chip. Luckily though, you can’t notice the damage unless you look on the underside of the lid. The percolator basket is also quite worn looking, but this is purely an aesthetic issue, and shouldn’t affect the functioning of the coffee maker at all!
