1960s Arabia Finel Stove-Top Kettle

R380.00

Today’s stove-top kettle is another piece that we hauled back from New Zealand when we visited last year – clearly the Kiwi’s also appreciate Scandinavian design , but I suppose, who doesn’t really? The kettle is the work of Esteri Tomula (1920-1998) and Kaj Franck (1911-1989) for Arabia Finel, and was manufactured in the 1960s. Franck was responsible for the design of the form of the kettle, with Tomula illustrating the pattern, which goes by the name ‘Ritari’ – Ritari translates from Finnish as ‘knights’.

Note: Overall the kettle is in good nick for its age, but there is some minor wear to the pattern and to the handle (see photos)

Dimensions: 12.5cm in diameter x 14.5cm tall (excl. handle)/21cm tall (incl. handle)
