1950s Replogle Globe

R430.00

There’s no hiding the fact that this vintage Repogle world globe is a little worse for wear, but the base, which is often an issue with these old globes, is nice and sturdy, with only minor wear to the painted faux wooden finish. The downside though is that the various paper ‘leafs’ that make up the globe have started to lift, but for me the damage doesn’t detract terribly from how attractive this globe is, and if you look after it well, I don’t think it’s condition is likely to worse.

P.S. I love looking at the old names of countries – Nyasaland was established in 1907 as a British Protectorate, and changed its name to Malawi in 1964 when it gained independence. Between 1953 and 1963 Nyasaland was part of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, which is the name it’s given on this Repogle globe

Dimensions: approx. 38cm tall x 30cm in diameter

P.S. Unfortunately this item is too large for one of our courier packets, so will need to be boxed. To save on shipping costs, we’re happy to combine other items at no additional courier fee
