Saying Goodbye…..

Sadly the time has come for us to part with our Durban home. We absolutely loved living there, and will be forever grateful to our good friend, Linday Bush, who designed this wonderful house, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be heading back to Durbs anytime soon, so it makes sense to let it go. Below is a copy of the advertisement that will be going up on Private Property tomorrow – we’re wanting to try and sell the house privately – please spread the word to anyone who might possibly be interested! Thanks so much Minters!

This architect designed home really is something special! An open plan living space (kitchen, dining room and lounge all on one level) opens onto a large covered balcony with fantastic (albeit somewhat industrial) views. A guest bedroom, on the same level as the living area, has its open private courtyard, which leads onto a handy laundry room. Downstairs the second and third bedrooms (both en suite) have wooden framed glass sliding doors that lead out onto the pool area, and garden.

Cleverly concealed beneath a ‘green roof’, a contemporary open-plan garden flat offers both the house and the cottage their own privacy. The tenant in the flat has access to a secure open parking behind an electric gate, with the house having a double garage with an automatic garage door. There is also a fully installed alarm system, including beams that surround the house. The area isn’t very fancy, but the neighbours are lovely, and there’s a real sense of community. It’s also very conveniently situated, about five minutes from Florida Road, and with a Woolies garage round the corner.

We are selling the house as we have moved to Johannesburg. Both the house and the cottage are currently tenanted and are producing good rental income.

    Hi Kirsty,

I don’t know if you already have an attorney / conveyancer in mind to attend to the transfer of the property once you have found a buyer. It is the seller’s prerogative to choose the conveyancer. I am the conveyancer at Dickinson & Theunissen Inc in Pientown. Our firm will gladly assist you if you don’t already have an attorney of your own.
Should you have any legal queries, please feel free to contact me any time.

PS: Justin and Craig (my husband) used to work together at Enforce.

I have just seen your post which was shared by Karen Bradtke. If you want the best agent, contact Julie Solomon. We had our property with 2 very established agents for about 3 months and absolutely nothing happened. I had heard of Julie so contacted her and with no fuss we had sales for all 3 apartments – the first on the day of listing and the other 2 shortly thereafter. Julie is amazing and passionate and hard working. Her tel number is 082 889 0915. PS This is definitely not an advert but a genuine word of mouth referral. Best wishes Lindsay Sommer
