THE RETIRED GOODS COMPANY

Farewell Mouse

Some of you might notice that when you next come to collect your Mint treasures from our home, things are a bit quieter than normal – there’s no manic Staffie jumping up and down, barking “You came to see me, you came to see me, yaaaayyyy!!!”. And that’s because – very sadly – Justin and I had to put our beloved Scout* to sleep a few weeks ago.

Scout came into our life when she was just a wee pup. I can clearly remember seeing this tiny thing sitting on the couch – from day one she ruled the house! – and thinking, “What on earth have I done?”. But that night when she snuggled into the crook of my neck, I knew that I had made the right choice – also that I was done for – I already loved this creature way too much!

Losing Scout has been ridiculously hard, the pain though is but a small price to pay for the massive amount of joy and love she brought to our family over the past twelve years.

We love you Scout, and we miss you with all our heart!

* Scout was nicknamed Mouse by our friend, Smile, AKA Niall – he comes from a family of serial nicknamers!

So sorry to hear. We had to say goodbye to one of beloved trio towards the end of last year … and the other two (similar ages) are now looking a bit wobbly. 🙁 The saying in our house is “dogs are people too” and its very very hard when you have to let them go.
