Poole Pottery snack dish

Poole Pottery snack dish

I’m not really sure what you would use this Poole Pottery dish for? I’m assuming it was designed for serving snacks, but I suppose it could also be displayed on a wall. It’s in mint condition, which is impressive given that it dates to sometime between the late ’50s and ’60s. It defintely has that quirk factor!

Dimensions: 15cm wide x 19cm long x 2cm deep

Poole coffee set

Poole coffee set

I’ve always loved Poole Pottery, but until now I’ve only been familiar with their iconic pastel matte glazes – it never occurred to me that they must have moved on from 1950s! So when I first spotted this coffee set I had no idea that it was Poole, I picked it up because of the unusual shape of the coffee pot and the contrast of the clean white and the olive green glazes which work so well together. According to its stamp this set dates to somewhere between 1959 & 1967, and apart from damage to the handle of the milk jug (which has been very well restored) is in very good condition.

Dimensions: Coffee pot – 14.5cm tall x 11cm in diameter; Milk jug & sugar bowl – 7.5cm tall x 9cm in diameter

Price: R180 for the set

Poole Pottery Coffee Set

Poole Pottery Coffee Set

This coffee set by Poole Pottery dates to somewehere between 1959 & 1967, and is unusual in that it has 8 cups and saucers (as opposed to the usual 6). The set is in perfect condition with the exception of the milk jug which sadly has a small chip in the spout. I love the iconic matte glazes produced by Poole and the simple style of this famous pottery house.

Dimensions: Coffee Pot: 15cm tall with lid on x 10cm at its widest; Milk Jug: 6.5cm tall x 6.5cm at its widest; Sugar Bowl: 7cm tall x 5.5cm at its widest; Tea Cup: 7cm tall x 5.5cm at its widest; Saucer: 12cm in diameter
