From not having had any pyrexware on Mint for ages, we seem to have had a whole heap of it lately, and nearly all of it seems to be JAJ Pyrex. Along with Fire-King, JAJ is probably one of the biggest names in pyrexware. The company formed out of a struggling glassware company, when James A Joblings (for whom the company is named) bought the license to produce pyrexware from Corning in America. Not only did it save the family business from bankruptcy, but it introduced pyrexware to England where it proved to be a massive success. This pair of neat pyrex dishes is just one of the multitude of patterns and shapes that the company produced until it finally closed its doors in 2007 – not a bad innings! The dishes have no visible signs of wear, and fit neatly one inside the other, so will be easy to store in your cupboard or on display on a shelf.
Price: R120 for the pair
