I like the way this simple metal stand elevates this pyrex dish from cookware to a serving dish – although these days I think most of us would be happy to serve out of this pretty blue dish at our dinner table sans the stand. There’s a small chip on the underside of the lid, but I don’t think that this is a train smash. The stand is also a bit worn in places, but the overall look is still fairly clean. If you’re a collector of pyrexware, it’s nice to have one or two pieces that are slightly out of the ordinary, plus this dish will look very cool sitting on its stand at your next dinner party.

This is the first pyrex dish that I’ve ever come across with a hunting scene on it, so I just had to have it! The bowl was given away as part of a promotion for Ringtons tea in the 1960s, and the fantastic pattern is generally referred to as ‘Tally Ho’ – very English indeed! The shape is known as a cinderella bowl, which refers to a pyrex dish with a handle on one side and a spout on the other, which I assume is some very obscure reference to the shape of a slipper. The bowl is in decent nick, although there are one or two marks on the rim. This might just be one of my favourite pyrex bowls to date!

Sadly this blue snowflake pyrex dish has taken a bit of a beating over the years – the blue finish is a bit scratched and worn – but the inside of the dish is in excellent nick. The yellow version has fared much better, and is pretty clean. I’m selling the dishes separately, but I think it would be a shame to see them part ways. The colours look so great together!

Sadly this set of set of JAJ pyrex bowls is missing its smallest bowl, but I don’t think you’d know that anything was amiss unless you’d seen the set before – I have a pink version that has pride of place in my kitchen. They’re great bowls – the largest bowl is big enough to hold a very generous salad, and the smallest bowl little enough to serve as a breakfast bowl when you run out of clean dishes (as often happens in our house!). But for me the thing that’s most appealing about them is how they look when they’re stacked one inside the other, plus I really like their assymetrical handles – the one end is wider than the other and acts as a pouring spout if you use the bowls for mixing, which it seems is what these bowls were primarily used for by their previous owner (the inside of the bowls have quite a few scratch marks caused by spoons scraping against the pyrex). The biggest bowl also has two chips in the rim, but they’re not that notieable.  A super-handy set of bowls, that is sure to add a bit of retro funk to your kitchen.

This pyrex stand definitely isn’t for everyday use, but it’d be cool to show off at dinner parties! It has space for two tealight candles, but I think it originally used some type of gel for fuel – I’ve sold one previously that still had it’s original gel in the holders. The dish is in very good nick, with only a slight mark along the rim, but the glass lid does have a chip on its underside.  An unusual piece for all those pyrex collectors out there!
