Fire King bowl
I came across this pyrexware pattern for the first time a month or two ago, and was absolutely delighted to find it again! It’s one of the sweetest patterns I’ve seen. The bowl is in fair nick – there are some slight scatches in the paintwork and some very minor staining in the glass, but the overall impression is pretty clean.

Fire King pyrex dish
I resisted buying this Fire King pyrex dish for some time because it was a bit more than I’d normally spend, but after a few weeks of staring at it I couldn’t help myself! It just has the sweetest pattern doesn’t it?! And apart from a few of the flowers which are a bit scratched (see pics under ‘more’), it’s in very good nick. A delightful piece of pyrex!

Jade Fire King Jug
This is another serious piece of Fire King for all those pyrex collectors out there. These jugs tend to sell for upwards of $40 on ebay, and I think they’re deserving of the high prices they fetch – the combined colour and shape of the bowl make for a great piece of design. This jug (referred to as a batter or dough bowl) is in excellent nick, and would be a feature piece in your pyrexware collection.

Pair of Fire King Swedish Modern bowls
Fire King introduced their Swedish Modern line (AKA Tear Drop) in 1956, and since then it has become a much sought after collector’s item. I can see why people would lust after these bowls – there’s something incredibly beautiful about their shape! Originally these bowls would have been part of a four piece set, with each bowl fitting inside a larger bowl, but you don’t often come across the complete set and they are mostly sold as individual pieces. The small bowls seem to go for around $40 with the largest bowl selling for as much as $120 – there’s a complete set going for $495 on ebay!! Both of these bowls are in excellent conditon, with no chips to speak of, although there are very slight scratch marks on the inside of the bowls caused by stirring. These lovely blue bowls would make a fine addition to any serious pyrexware collection.

Fire King butter dish
This Fire King butter dish really is quite lovely (I don’t think the pics do it justice!). It’s pretty small, so would probably be used at a dinner table where you would only need a small amount of butter. I don’t know what it is that it makes it so attractive to me, but I really do think it’s very sweet – perhaps it’s just that it’s made from pyrex (I do love my pyrexware)!
