I was never sure whether these Corning Ware pots were meant for tea or coffee, but fortunately I got a big clue when I found this version the other day that reads ‘le The’ (French for ‘the tea’). This teapot has been well used in its time, although you wouldn’t be able to tell from the outside of the pot. The inside does have some stains from the tannin in tea, as does the underside of the lid, but the overall impression is still clean.

Dimensions: 13cm high (with lid on) x 15cm at its widest

These Corning Ware percolators always remind me of my childhood – I think my gran had one in her kitchen. For some people this would be a negative, but my gran had great style and anything that brings up memories of her is a positive for me! I love the clean lines of Corning Ware, the simplicity of it’s cornflower blue and white colour scheme, and its durability. This particular version holds 6 cups of cofee and according to reviews makes an excellent brew!

Corning Ware Coffee Pot

The print on this Corning Ware coffee/tea pot is just wonderful. The colours and naivete of it reminds me of something you might find on a piece of pottery from South America, and when you combine the colourful birdies with the clean white of Corning Ware, you’ve got something quite special! Being Corning Ware I’m assuming it can go on the stove, but from the looks of it it never has been before (it’s in near perfect condition). If anyone knows if these pots are meant to be stove-top please let me know…

This Corning Ware (USA) browning dish is darling, but sadly it’s not for use in the oven! It was specifically designed for microwave use, and has a tin oxide coating on it’s base which apparently makes it microwave friendly. Ideal for those carnivores who don’t want the hassle of scrubbing the pots and pans!
