Designed in the mid 1960s by Jacob E Bang for Danish glass manufacturers, Holmegaard, this decanter has a fantastically onomatopoeic name – it’s called the Kluk-Kluk (glug-glug) decanter, in reference to the sound that the liquid makes when it’s poured through this pinched bottle. Isn’t that just great?! Coming from Holmegaard it’s a fairly collectible piece with these decanters selling for as much as $90, but their prices are obviously condition dependent and sadly there is some minor damage to the stopper on this version. Luckily though the small chips are on the inside of the stopper (i.e. the bit that sits inside the bottle) so isn’t noticeable at all. A fantastic, albeit slightly crazy design, that’s highly sought after by collectors of Scandinavian glass.
