1950s Scrabble Set – SOLD
9 Jan
My brother has spent the better part of his holiday playing scrabble and doing puzzles (no he’s not 10 – he’s 40!), and I know he would have loved to have been using this vintage ‘50s scrabble set! Aside from having plastic tiles (as opposed to wooden), his scrabble partner was moaning that the new sets don’t have the rules printed on the box, and they’re also missing the letter guide that tells you how many of each tile you’re meant to have (this version has it printed on the board). Dating to somewhere around 1954, the box for this set is a little worse for wear, but the board’s still intact and it has all 100 of its tiles, plus the four tile stands. Someone has even lovingly made a little pouch to keep the tiles in, which is probably why none of them have gone missing. The perfect game for children and adults alike, sure to keep you entertained (and probably a little frustrated) for hours on end.

I want! I want! Please
Hi Kirsty
You inspired me to dig out my old scrabble set left to me by my Mom – it also has a little bag for the letters, plus a little book where my mom and dad kept score of all their games played over many years – very nostalgic time for me and now I am going to challenge the kids to play scrabble – thanks
